About 4K BAKING: a fresh-cream cake shop in Taipei and New Taipei

This section only summarises what the brand says about itself on its homepage and About page.

On its website, 4K BAKING positions itself as a fresh-cream cake specialist with reduced sugar that is not cloying. The About page says the brand started as a small shop in an alley in Sanchong (a district of New Taipei), with the aim of making a cake the family could eat with less sugar. The site currently lists four stores across Taipei and New Taipei, in Sanchong, Linkou, Songjiang and Tianmu, and sells by online pre-order with in-store pickup.

On products, the site says birthday cakes, baby full-month cakes (彌月蛋糕, a Taiwanese gifting custom) and festive gift boxes can be pre-ordered online, and the menu also shows layered crepe cakes, classic desserts and a corporate order entry. Flavours, sizes, prices and lead times change, so check the site for current details.

What this brand uses

This is the only part of the article that covers the relationship between 4K BAKING and FRIDAI, and the table below is all of it.

ChannelProductSinceType of work
LINE Official AccountFRIDAI ChatMid-2026DM enquiries
Instagram DMsFRIDAI ChatMid-2026DM enquiries
ThreadsFRIDAI SocialMid-2026Comment engagement

"Type of work" is described at the product level: FRIDAI Chat handles one-to-one messages, and FRIDAI Social handles comment engagement under posts.

Anything not in the table is not in this article: plan tier, cost, message volume, rule content, conversation content, or any before-and-after comparison. For other brands, see the FRIDAI customer stories roundup, or a platform-type example in gogoout's Threads and website chat setup.

Why this kind of business sets it up this way

This section is our own view of pre-order bakeries as a type of business. It is reasoning, not something the brand told us.

A cake is a product with a date

The biggest difference between a cake and most products is that the customer is really buying "something for a particular day". Birthdays, full-month celebrations and holidays all have fixed dates, so the most common questions revolve around time: how late can I order, which store can I pick up from, by what time on the day. The answers are fixed and the questions repeat, which makes this the best part to hand to AI first.

LINE and Instagram DMs bring different people

Our view is that in Taiwan, customers who have bought before tend to come back to the LINE Official Account (LINE is the messaging app most Taiwanese customers use) to ask about orders and pickup, while people seeing a cake photo for the first time often DM on Instagram to ask "is this one still available?". The questions are similar, but familiarity differs. Answering both channels from the same brand knowledge keeps the wording consistent.

Note that FRIDAI's product page says one plan covers one platform account, so connecting both LINE and Instagram DMs means two plans; cost them separately. The LINE Official Account's own plan and message fees are on LINE's official pages; the complete LINE Official Account guide is useful alongside.

Threads comments are a public shop window

Everyone can see Threads comments. For a bakery, engagement there is more like greeting people at the door: joining flavour discussions and pointing to the order page. Order details, phone numbers and the name of the person picking up should not sit in a comment thread. Public engagement and one-to-one order enquiries are two kinds of work, handled by Social and Chat respectively.

How similar businesses can set it up

This is a general checklist for bakeries, dessert shops and pre-order food businesses. It is not 4K BAKING's internal setup.

Templates for fixed messagesWrite welcome, order confirmation and closure notices first so the tone stays consistentCustomer service message templates index

Step 1: write the order flow in a sequence the AI can follow

When a customer says "I'd like to order a cake", the AI needs to know what to confirm and in what order. A general sequence is: occasion and date, item and size, pickup store, and whether there is a custom request. The AI can collect the first three and guide the customer to the order page; the fourth goes to a person as soon as it appears.

Step 2: prepare the answers for rush orders and allergens

Rush orders and allergens are the two questions most likely to cause trouble for a bakery. We suggest fixed wording for both rather than letting the AI improvise. General patterns to adapt to your own rules follow. Gloss for the first: "Thanks for your message. This date is close, so the store needs to confirm whether it can be made in time. Please leave your preferred pickup date, item and store, and a member of staff will reply as soon as possible."

謝謝你的訊息!這個日期比較接近,需要由門市確認是否來得及製作。
請留下希望的取貨日期、品項與門市,我們會請專人盡快回覆你。

Gloss for the second: "About allergens: our products are made in the same environment, so we cannot guarantee they are completely free of a specific ingredient. If you have a severe allergy, we suggest a member of staff confirms with you before you decide to order."

關於過敏原,我們的產品在同一個環境製作,無法保證完全不含特定成分。
如果有嚴重過敏的情況,建議先由專人與你確認,再決定是否訂購。

The second message must reflect your own kitchen's actual process; the above only demonstrates the sentence pattern.

Step 3: keep comments to greetings and directions

Replies under Threads and Instagram posts should stick to flavour discussion, launch news and where to order. If you want a comment to trigger an automatic DM, FRIDAI's product page states that the same social account needs both Social and Chat; the Threads DM plan is currently yearly billing only with no trial.

What to leave to humans

FRIDAI's product page says it includes human handoff, sensitive-reply review and manual intervention, and that the AI stands by without interrupting once a person takes over. When to hand over is still for the shop to decide. For bakeries, this chart is a general starting point.

These are the situations we think an AI should not decide.

Instant replies are great, but if you promise a cake that cannot be made, nobody is smiling on the birthday. What every row above has in common: the AI can gather the date, item, store and photos so the colleague taking over does not have to ask again, but the "yes" or "no" has to come from someone with authority.

Also agree with each store who receives the notification and how quickly they reply. A handoff that nobody picks up worries customers more than an AI that did not answer.

What this article does not cover

There are no numbers here like "replies X faster" or "orders up Y percent", for three reasons.

First, FRIDAI has no results numbers it can publish and did not interview the brand, so there are no quotes and we do not speak for the brand. Second, a bakery's message volume usually follows the holiday calendar; peak season and an ordinary weekday can look very different, so a single number misleads easily. Third, every shop has its own pre-order rules, and someone else's outcome does not transfer.

The quickest way to find out whether it suits you is to test it. According to FRIDAI's published plan information, a US$1 verification fee (NT$30 with PAYUNi or JKO Pay, two Taiwanese payment services) starts a 30-day trial with 100 AI replies in the simplified dashboard. When the 30 days end or the allowance runs out, it converts automatically to the plan you chose and billing starts, so cancel before then if you do not want to continue. One trial per service per email address.

Avoid your busiest holiday week for the trial, and look at three things only: whether pre-order rules were answered correctly, whether custom and rush orders went to a person, and whether store colleagues taking over could follow the earlier conversation.

FAQ

Which FRIDAI products does 4K BAKING use?

According to what FRIDAI can share publicly, 4K BAKING has used FRIDAI Chat on its LINE Official Account and Instagram DMs, and FRIDAI Social on Threads, since mid-2026. Plan tier and cost are not public.

Does this article include results numbers?

No. FRIDAI has no results numbers it can publish and did not interview the brand, so it covers only channel facts and general advice for similar bakeries. To judge the effect, test with the questions your own shop gets most.

Can a bakery's AI customer service take orders directly?

We suggest letting the AI answer fixed rules and collect the date and item, then guide the customer to your existing order page to complete the purchase. Custom, rush and bulk orders should be agreed by a person after checking capacity, so the AI does not promise first.

Is connecting both LINE and Instagram DMs one plan or two?

According to FRIDAI's product page, one plan covers one platform account, so connecting both LINE and Instagram DMs means two. The LINE Official Account's own monthly fee and message fees are separate; LINE's official pages are the reference.

Can allergen questions be left to AI?

We do not recommend letting the AI answer freely. The safer approach is one fixed message explaining the limits of your production environment, with severe allergy questions always handed to a person. The wording must reflect your own kitchen's actual process.

How much does it cost to try?

According to FRIDAI's published plan information, the trial is a US$1 verification fee, or NT$30 with PAYUNi or JKO Pay, for 30 days and 100 AI replies. It converts to your chosen plan when it ends or the allowance runs out, so cancel beforehand if you do not want to continue.

How FRIDAI can help

If you run a pre-order bakery or dessert shop, start by giving FRIDAI Chat the fixed questions that come before an order, on either your LINE Official Account or Instagram DMs, and set custom requests, rush orders and after-sales to hand over to a person. Once one channel is steady, add a second channel or comment engagement on Threads.
