To be upfront: this article was put together by FRIDAI, and FRIDAI is one of the products compared. Features and prices for the other brands come only from their official pages. Where we could not find something, we say so; we do not guess and we do not pass judgement.
The verdict first: who should switch and who should not
| Your situation | Suggestion | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram only, mainly comment-for-link | Stay on ManyChat | Low starting price; comment and DM automation is its home turf |
| Customers add you on LINE before they buy | Find a tool that supports LINE | LINE is not on ManyChat's official channel list |
| You want AI to answer DMs by brand rules and hand off to a person | Try FRIDAI first | Rules in natural language; paid plans include human handoff |
| Retail or e-commerce needing LINE broadcasts and membership | Look at Omnichat or Crescendo Lab first | Fuller marketing, membership and e-commerce modules |
| Cross-border team with WhatsApp as a main channel | Look at SleekFlow or respond.io first | Multi-channel inbox with active-contact pricing |
This table is not a ranking. The answer is wherever your customers do their talking.
What ManyChat does well
A fair word for ManyChat first: many people who want to leave are not leaving because it is bad. Their business has simply grown into a place it never set out to serve.
Channels and positioning
ManyChat's official pricing page lists Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and Email as channels, and says the company is an official Meta Business Partner that also works with TikTok. It describes itself as an automation platform for creators and social-first brands, and the core jobs are auto-replying to comments and DMs, turning engagement into conversations, and collecting leads.
A low price of entry
The official pricing page currently shows five plans, all priced by "active contacts", meaning people who actually interacted with you that month. One person counts once no matter how many messages they send.
| Plan | Monthly price | Active contacts | Channels and seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 | 2 channels, 1 user |
| Essential | $14 | 250 | 2 channels, 2 users |
| Pro | $29 | 2,500 | 3 channels, 3 users |
| Business | $69 | 7,500 | Unlimited channels, 5 users |
| Advanced | $139 | 25,000 | Unlimited channels, 10 users |
The page also states the following: annual billing saves up to 30%; going over your contact limit does not shut you down but adds a charge based on the overage, and you can set your own overage cap; Essential and Pro come with a 14-day free trial; prices exclude tax and depend on billing country, with the final amount shown at checkout.
Comment-to-DM and AI
ManyChat's Instagram product page lists "auto-reply to comments", "auto-reply to DMs" and "auto-send links" as the main features, and a comment keyword that triggers a DM is the use it is best known for. On AI, the official AI page lists AI Replies, AI Comments, AI Step and intent recognition, and says you can supply a large amount of brand background text for the AI to draw on. One thing to watch: the pricing page lists Manychat AI under Pro and higher plans, while the AI product page describes it as an add-on to Pro. The two pages word it differently, so confirm the actual amount at checkout before you pay.
Three places brands in Taiwan get stuck
Only facts that FRIDAI Editorial could find on official pages today are written here.
1. LINE is not on the official channel list
Neither the channel list nor the plan comparison table on the pricing page includes LINE. If your flow is "Instagram comment → DM → add on LINE → sale", ManyChat can look after the first half, the LINE conversation in the second half needs another tool, and the customer's context is cut in two.
2. Official pages and support information are mainly in English
The pricing and product pages we read are in English. The support options listed for the plans are Help Center, AI Chat and Email, with priority support from Business upward. The official AI page says the AI can understand questions in major languages, but we did not find a clear statement on official pages about whether the dashboard offers a Traditional Chinese interface or whether support can respond in Chinese. Sign up for the free plan and look for yourself.
3. Billing is shown in "$" and depends on billing country
Amounts on the pricing page are shown in "$", exclude tax, and are noted as depending on billing country. Paid plans require a credit card. We did not see any mention of New Taiwan dollar pricing or local Taiwanese payment methods on the page, so shops that need a Taiwanese tax-ID invoice or want to pay in NT$ should confirm with ManyChat first.
Five alternatives measured with the same ruler
FRIDAI Editorial lined up all six tools against the same criteria. The first table covers features, the second covers language and money.
| Tool | LINE | Comment-to-DM | AI and human handoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| ManyChat | Not on the official list | Yes, a core feature | Has AI; has an inbox |
| FRIDAI | Supports LINE Official Account | Yes, needs Social plus Chat | AI replies by rules; paid plans include human handoff |
| Omnichat | Supported | Yes, Facebook and Instagram post comments | Has AI Agents; has case assignment and takeover |
| SleekFlow | Supported | Yes, a flow node | Has AI Agents; shared inbox |
| respond.io | Supported, messaging only | Not mentioned on the pages we read | AI Agents from Growth; has an inbox |
| Crescendo Lab | Supported | Says it currently focuses on DMs | Has AI customer service; sensitive cases go to a person |
| Tool | Official page language | Pricing unit | Public price |
|---|---|---|---|
| ManyChat | English | Active contacts | $0 to $139/ |
| FRIDAI | Traditional Chinese | AI replies per account | From US$70/ |
| Omnichat | Traditional Chinese | Valid contacts and agent seats | Not public, quote required, annual only |

| respond.io | English | Monthly active contacts and seats | From $79/ |
| Crescendo Lab | Traditional Chinese | Monthly active contacts and credits | Not public, quote required |
The details that would not fit in a table follow, one tool at a time.
FRIDAI
FRIDAI splits the work into three products: Chat handles DM customer service on LINE Official Account, Messenger, Instagram, Threads and more; Social handles comment auto-replies and comment-to-DM; Post handles publishing. Chat and Social are each Launch US$70, Essential US$160 and Enterprise US$300 a month, including 500, 2,000 and 5,000 AI replies respectively, and each plan covers one platform account. All paid plans include human handoff and manual review. You can pay by credit card in US dollars, or in New Taiwan dollars through PAYUNi or JKOPAY.
The honest downside: comment-to-DM needs both a Social and a Chat plan on the same account, which means from US$140 a month, a good deal more than ManyChat Pro. If all you want is "comment keyword → send one link", FRIDAI is not the cheapest choice. It suits shops whose DMs need an AI that answers by your rules, asks follow-up questions, then hands over to a person.
Omnichat
Omnichat positions itself as an omnichannel AI conversational commerce platform, supporting LINE Official Account, Messenger, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, WhatsApp and website chat. The "social engagement" feature in its official tutorial can auto-reply to and DM people who comment on Facebook and Instagram posts, and there are also broadcast, cart remarketing, coupon, membership and OMO modules. The pricing page publishes no amounts; it says fees depend on the number of valid contacts and agent seats, and that only annual subscriptions are currently offered. Retail and e-commerce brands can look here first. We wrote up the details separately in FRIDAI vs Omnichat.
SleekFlow
SleekFlow's official documentation lists WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, LINE, WeChat, Viber, SMS, TikTok and website chat. Its flow builder has a "reply to post comment via direct message" action node, which DMs the person after they comment. The pricing page shows Essential at US$49/
respond.io
respond.io's help documentation lists WhatsApp, TikTok, Messenger, Instagram, WeChat, LINE, Viber, Telegram, website chat, SMS, Email and other channels. For LINE, it states that only messaging conversations are supported, calls are not, and Flex Messages will not display on the platform. The pricing page shows Starter at $79, Growth at $159 and Advanced at $279 a month, priced by monthly active contacts, with AI Agents starting at Growth. The pricing and channel pages we read do not mention handling post comments, so if comment-to-DM is your priority, confirm with respond.io first.
Crescendo Lab
Crescendo Lab's official CAAC page says it covers LINE, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, website messaging and voice calls, with AI customer service that can pass sensitive cases to a person; MAAC handles marketing automation. However, where its official Meta channel page answers "do you reply to post comments", it explains that it currently focuses mainly on DMs and Instagram Story replies. None of the four plans on the pricing page shows a public amount; pricing is by sales quote, billed on monthly active contacts plus credits. It is closer to a LINE marketing and customer service platform than a direct stand-in for ManyChat. See FRIDAI vs Crescendo Lab.
Three questions that decide whether to switch
Notice the middle path: keeping Instagram on ManyChat and connecting a separate tool for LINE is a perfectly reasonable combination. The price is that customer data does not flow between the two, so the phone number someone left on Instagram has to be asked for again on LINE.
Checklist before you switch
1. Take stock of your current flows
List every automation running in ManyChat, line by line: which post, which keyword, what gets sent, and whether there is a follow-up question. Moving without this list is like tipping a drawer straight into a cardboard box.
2. Test every tool with the same conversation
Take real conversations from the past week, strip out personal data, and paste them into a trial account for each candidate. You can copy the set below as is. The customer lines are in Chinese because that is what your Taiwanese customers will type.
Test 1: A customer comments 「+1」 on a post and should receive a DM with the link
Test 2: A customer DMs 「多少錢」 (how much?) without saying which item
Test 3: A customer left a phone number in the previous message, then asks to change the time
Test 4: A customer asks for a discount beyond your published offer
Test 5: A customer says 「我要找真人」 (I want a real person)For each test, record three things: was the answer right, did it re-ask for information already given, and did the earlier context travel with the handoff to a person.
3. Cost out a full month
ManyChat, SleekFlow and respond.io charge by active contacts, FRIDAI by AI replies and number of accounts, and Omnichat and Crescendo Lab by quote. Run each one against the same month's real number of people and messages, then add the official LINE and WhatsApp messaging fees. For how the pricing units differ, see how AI customer service pricing works.
4. Confirm what you can take with you
Whether contacts, tags and conversation history can be exported differs from vendor to vendor. Ask before you move, so you do not discover afterwards that your customer list is still in the old house.
Three common misunderstandings
Misunderstanding 1: a new tool lets you DM everyone who comments
Whether you can DM someone after a comment, and how soon you must reply, is set by Meta's platform rules, not by the tool. ManyChat's own AI page mentions Meta's 24-hour reply window too. Whichever tool you move to, the same rules apply.
Misunderstanding 2: "supports LINE" means the same features
Among tools that say "supports LINE", some do messaging conversations only, while others include broadcasts, membership binding and rich menus. List the LINE features you will actually use and ask about each one.
Misunderstanding 3: the lowest starting price is the cheapest
Active-contact pricing is a bargain for accounts with many followers who each send one message. Per-reply pricing is easier to estimate for service businesses with fewer customers who each ask a lot. Look at what your conversations are shaped like first.
FAQ
Does ManyChat have a Chinese interface?
The official pricing and product pages FRIDAI Editorial read today are in English, and the official pages do not clearly list the interface languages the dashboard supports. The quickest check is to sign up for the free plan, look at the language settings inside, and then decide whether to pay.
Can ManyChat connect to a LINE Official Account?
The channels on the official pricing page are Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS and Email. LINE is not among them. If LINE is where your sales close, you need to pair it with a tool that supports LINE.
How much does ManyChat cost per month?
The official pricing page shows Free at $0, Essential at $14, Pro at $29, Business at $69 and Advanced at $139 a month, with a discount for annual billing. Going over the active-contact limit adds charges, and prices exclude tax and depend on billing country.
I only want Instagram comment-to-DM. Do I need to replace ManyChat?
Usually not. Comment-triggered DMs are ManyChat's core feature and the starting price is low. Unless you need LINE, need AI to answer complex questions by your brand rules, or need to pay in New Taiwan dollars, keep it.
Will switching tools get my Instagram account restricted?
The risk comes mainly from how you operate, not from the brand. Choose a tool that connects through Meta's official authorization, do not send the identical reply every time, and respect the platform's messaging windows. No tool can guarantee that an account will never be reviewed by the platform.
How many plans do I need for comment-to-DM on FRIDAI?
One FRIDAI Social plan and one FRIDAI Chat plan on the same account, each from US$70 a month. If you only need public comment replies, Social alone is enough. You can confirm the flow first with the US$1 trial.
Can I use ManyChat together with another tool?
Yes. For example, keep Instagram comment campaigns on ManyChat and give LINE customer service to another tool. But connecting two auto-reply tools to the same Instagram account tends to produce duplicate replies, so let one tool handle the DMs for any one account.
How FRIDAI can help
If you are looking for a ManyChat alternative because your customers are all on LINE, or because DMs need an AI that answers by your rules and then hands over to a person, connect one account to FRIDAI Chat, run the five tests above, then decide. If all you do is Instagram comment-for-link, FRIDAI Editorial sincerely suggests you stay where you are for now.
