The question small LINE-only shops ask us most is: "There are so many AI customer service options and the fees differ several times over. Which one is actually worth it?" This guide does not rank who is cheapest. It shows you how to work out three numbers yourself: cost per reply, what the plan includes, and the hours you get back.
A note on terms: a LINE Official Account (LINE OA) is the business side of the LINE messaging app, the default chat app in Taiwan. Prices are in New Taiwan dollars (NT$) unless marked otherwise.
Split the bill first: what does a LINE shop pay for AI customer service?
Many shops compare different things in the same "monthly fee" column, so the comparison never lines up. Split the bill into three:
| Cost | What it is | Does everyone pay it? |
|---|---|---|
| LINE Official Account plan | Light, medium or heavy usage; sets your free broadcast messages | Yes, whichever AI you choose |
| AI reply tool | LINE's native add-on, a third-party module or a FRIDAI Chat plan | Depends on your route |
| Your time | What a person still has to answer | Yes; the difference is how much is left |
The first is a shared cost. LINE Taiwan announced that from 1 November 2026 the plans will be: light usage NT$0, medium NT$1,000 and heavy NT$1,400 per month (before tax). You pay this whichever AI tool you pick, so take it out and compare only the second and third.
Also, according to LINE's developer documentation, content sent as a reply message does not count toward the monthly message quota. A customer asking and the AI answering usually does not use up your broadcast allowance.
Three common options: what does each cost per month?
Prices come from each vendor's official page, checked on 30 October 2026; confirm on their site before buying.
| Option | Published price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| LINE native AI Chatbot (β) | Chat add-on plan; LINE's column says "NT$100 subscription" | Picks one answer from your common Q&As, up to 100 Q&As, with a monthly reply cap |
| 賴管家 with its smart customer service module | Personal plan NT$99/ | Main plan includes members, tags and booking management; the AI module is an add-on |
| FRIDAI Chat | Launch US$70 (about NT$2,240), Essential US$160, Enterprise US$300 per month; yearly billing gives 2 months free | 500 / 2,000 / 5,000 AI replies a month; every plan includes bookings, human collaboration and review, and LINE alerts to your team |
FRIDAI's NT$ prices follow its pricing page: card payments are in US dollars, while PAYUNi and JKOPAY payments are in NT$ at 32 to the dollar, for example Launch monthly NT$2,240 and Launch yearly via PAYUNi NT$20,000.
All three are easy to start with. The difference is how much work one payment buys, so next we turn the monthly fee into a cost per reply.
Number one: how do you work out the cost per AI reply?
The formula is simple:
Cost per reply = AI tool monthly fee ÷ replies the AI fully handled that monthFRIDAI Chat publishes its monthly reply allowance, so you can work it out directly:
| FRIDAI Chat plan | Monthly in NT$ | AI replies per month | Per reply (monthly) | Per reply (yearly) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | NT$2,240 | 500 | about NT$4.5 | about NT$3.3 |
| Essential | NT$5,120 | 2,000 | about NT$2.6 | about NT$2.1 |
| Enterprise | NT$9,600 | 5,000 | about NT$1.9 | about NT$1.6 |
Yearly billing means "2 months free": you pay for 10 months and use 12. Launch yearly at NT$20,000 averages about NT$1,667 a month; divided by 500 replies, that is about NT$3.3 each.
For tools without a published reply allowance, use your own numbers: during the trial, check how many replies the AI sent, then divide the fee by that. Tip: count only the replies the AI finished without you adding a line, so the result is your real cost~
Number two: what does the plan actually include?
Cost per reply is half the story. The other half is how much of the work is already in that payment, so you neither buy it separately nor do it yourself.
For a shop that only runs LINE, one FRIDAI Chat plan for LINE messages includes:
| Feature | What it does for a LINE shop |
|---|---|
| Brand knowledge notebook | Write products, prices and policies in plain language, or organise your existing website and documents |
| Reply rules | Write "in this situation, reply like this" in plain words, such as asking party size before quoting |
| Replies that read earlier messages | When a customer spreads a request over three messages, the AI picks up from the last one |
| Chat booking and reservation system | Customers book a time inside the chat, based on the services and opening hours you set |
| Human collaboration | LINE alerts you when a person is needed; once you take over, the AI stays quiet |
| Human review | Sensitive replies wait for your approval before they go out |
| Image and voice messages | Photos and voice notes from customers are understood too |
| 100+ languages | Customers writing in English or Japanese get answers in the same language |
| Welcome and follow-up | New friends get a greeting, and customers who went quiet mid-chat get a follow-up |
| Customer records | Launch 500, Essential 2,000, Enterprise unlimited; from Essential up the AI organises them for you |
| Product suggestions with payment links | Recommends items that fit what the customer asked and attaches a payment link |
LINE's native AI shines at simplicity: when every question has a fixed answer and fits in 100 Q&As, it handles the common questions. 賴管家
Number three: the hours you get back
For a small shop, the most expensive cost is usually the owner's own time. Here is a hypothetical example:
Assume: the owner takes 2 minutes to answer each message
500 messages a month × 2 minutes = 1,000 minutes ≈ 16.7 hoursHand those 500 messages to FRIDAI Chat's Launch plan and you trade NT$2,240 for about 16.7 hours, or about NT$134 an hour. Swap "2 minutes" for your own shop's real number and the result tells you whether it is worth it for you.
There is also a benefit the monthly fee does not show: late-night and weekend messages get an instant answer. A customer who asks at 10 pm "Do you have a slot tomorrow afternoon?" books on the spot, instead of trying another shop while waiting for your reply the next morning.
Which option fits your shop?
| Your shop | Suggested option | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One-person studio, most questions are hours and address | LINE native AI | Lowest fee, fixed Q&As are enough |
| Beauty, restaurants or classes with daily booking requests | FRIDAI Chat | Chat bookings and human handoff in one plan |
| Quotes need questions first, such as renovation, photography or custom orders | FRIDAI Chat | Rules can say "ask these three things before quoting" |
| Many international customers | FRIDAI Chat | Replies in 100+ languages |
| Over a thousand messages a month | FRIDAI Chat Essential and up | Cost per reply drops to about NT$2.6 or less |
| Mainly broadcasts, stamp cards and membership | Main plan plus AI module | Member and tag tools are the core |
Adding Instagram or Facebook DMs later
Many LINE shops move on to Instagram or Facebook once they grow. FRIDAI charges one plan per platform account: one for LINE messages, one for Instagram DMs, one for Facebook Messenger. The upside is that the same knowledge notebook and rules carry over, so a new platform does not start from scratch.
To turn Instagram post comments into automatic DMs and leads, add FRIDAI Social; see the Instagram comment keyword DM guide.
Try it for 30 days at US$1 and count with real messages
The most accurate way to count is to run a month on your shop's real messages. FRIDAI offers a 30-day trial for US$1 (NT$30 via PAYUNi or JKOPAY) with no lock-in and up to 100 replies during the trial.
During the trial, do these three things:
- Put your 20 most-asked questions and your price list into the knowledge notebook.
- Write three rules: when to ask a follow-up question, when to quote, and when to hand over to a person.
- After 30 days, check the dashboard: how many replies the AI sent, how many you added, how many bookings were made, then plug them into the formula above.
For how to write the rules, follow the six-part template in How to write AI customer service rules.
Summary: three numbers decide whether AI customer service pays off for a LINE shop
A quick note from FRIDAI
This time we did not stop at the monthly fee; we counted cost per reply, what the plan includes and the time you get back~
- Take out the LINE Official Account plan first; every shop pays it.
- Cost per reply = monthly fee ÷ replies the AI fully handled; FRIDAI Launch is about NT$4.5, or about NT$3.3 yearly.
- Then check whether bookings, human handoff, review and follow-ups cost extra.
- Swap in your real "minutes per message" to see what each hour costs you.
- The most accurate answer comes from 30 days on your shop's real messages.
Send me your 20 most-asked questions and we will count it out with a month of real messages ☺️
FAQ
Does a shop that only uses a LINE Official Account need AI customer service?
When most messages have fixed answers, LINE's native auto-responses and AI Chatbot (β) can handle them. When customers ask back and forth, book times or need quotes, or messages often arrive late at night, AI customer service catches them and saves you reply time.
How much does each FRIDAI Chat AI reply cost?
On the Launch plan at NT$2,240 a month for 500 replies, each reply costs about NT$4.5; yearly at NT$20,000 it is about NT$3.3. Essential works out to about NT$2.6 per reply and Enterprise about NT$1.9.
How much does LINE's native AI chatbot cost?
To have it reply to customers for real, you need the chat add-on plan; LINE's official column describes it as a NT$100 subscription, and the purchase page has the actual billing. It picks answers from the common Q&As you set up, with up to 100 Q&As.
Do AI replies use up my LINE message quota?
According to LINE's developer documentation, content sent as a reply message does not count toward the monthly quota; push messages and broadcasts do. A customer asking and the AI answering usually does not use up your broadcast allowance.
If I only use LINE, how many FRIDAI plans do I need?
One. FRIDAI charges one plan per platform account, so answering LINE messages only needs one Chat plan; add one more each for Instagram or Facebook DMs later.
Do FRIDAI plans include a booking system?
Yes. Every FRIDAI Chat plan includes the booking and reservation system, human collaboration, human review and LINE alerts from FRIDAI's official account. Set up your services, opening hours and calendar first.
Can I try it before deciding?
Yes. FRIDAI offers a 30-day trial for US$1 (NT$30 via PAYUNi or JKOPAY) with no lock-in and up to 100 replies; when the 30 days end or the allowance runs out first, it switches to the plan you chose, so cancel before then if you do not want to continue.
How FRIDAI can help
If people message your LINE Official Account every day about prices, bookings or changing a time, FRIDAI Chat can answer with your knowledge notebook and rules, and alert you when a person needs to take over. Start with the US$1 30-day trial and work out your own cost per reply with real messages.
